What Are You Looking For?

I wanted to take a minute to ask for your feedback. I am getting

ready to do a teleseminar with a prominent leader in the fitness

industry and I wanted to structure the content of the call in a way

that would most benefit you.

Would you be willing to share with me what some of your biggest

struggles are and what it is you really want to achieve?

What level of health are you after… your fitness, your nutrition,

or your mindset? Is it weight loss? Is it your confidence,

happiness, stress, time, etc? What is keeping you up at night?

I would love to hear from you so I can continue to provide content

that is both powerful and useful to you, and create an awesome

teleseminar program for you at the same time.

Use the form on the blog to submit your comment, and thank

you for your help!

Be well,

Lauren

Sugar In Disguise

Filed Under Nutrition · Tagged:

I Just wanted to give you the “skinny” on sugar if you are trying to cut back on your sweets.

Sugar is highly addictive and clearly one of the leading causes of obesity, not to mention a litany of other major health problems.

Sugar in the form of sucrose, dextrose, and high fructose corn syrup are processed into so many of our breads, cereals, peanut butter, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, or nearly every processed food you pull out of a box, bag or can.

In the late 1800’s, the average sugar consumption was 5 lbs. per person per year. In the last 20 years, sugar consumption in the US has increased from 26 lbs to 135 lbs. of sugar per person per year.

You’ll know you are addicted to sugar when you crave it. It is responsible for the highs and lows you may be experiencing. Fortunately, once you stop, the addiction and cravings will disappear.

If you think you are outsmarting your addiction by replacing the sugar with artificial sweeteners, think again. Aspartame, saccharin, sorbitol and sucrolose to name a few, may actually be worse than using real sugar, so you might want to consider eliminating them as well. [Read more]

No Time?

Have you ever considered if you are not finding the time to exercise

or shop and plan healthy meals… you just haven’t chosen to

make it your priority yet?

I’ve got news, you are not the only one who’s “too busy”. If you are

meeting your self-care needs in spite of being spread too thin,

I’ll bet you are looking and feeling better every day.

Everybody has the same 24 hours… the same 24 as the single mom of

5 kids who manages to get her workout in and put healthy meals on the

table, or the busy executive  who you always see at the gym. It

isn’t the time, it’s creating the space.

A lot of people use the no time excuse to not take self-care

seriously. If I paid you $100 every time you exercised or took

$100 away every time you ate crap-food I bet you’d sure as heck make

time to work out and clean up your nutrition habits wouldn’t you?

9 Ways to Waste Time at the Gym

Filed Under Exercise · Tagged:

1.    Don’t do weights… if you do, you will increase your lean muscle mass, which will cause your metabolism to spike and you will lose fat.

2.    If you do use the weights, never try to increase them, that way you’ll know for sure you haven’t become any stronger.

3.    Do the same workout every time. Never use variety… you might improve when you try to go back to your comfort zone.

4.    Do cardio slow for an hour every time… oh, and use the same machine, be sure to find a nice distraction like the same TV program or your cell phone, so you won’t even notice you are working out. [Read more]
