9 Ways to Waste Time at the Gym

1. Don’t do weights… if you do, you will increase your lean muscle mass, which will cause your metabolism to spike and you will lose fat.
2. If you do use the weights, never try to increase them, that way you’ll know for sure you haven’t become any stronger.
3. Do the same workout every time. Never use variety… you might improve when you try to go back to your comfort zone.
4. Do cardio slow for an hour every time… oh, and use the same machine, be sure to find a nice distraction like the same TV program or your cell phone, so you won’t even notice you are working out.
5. If you push yourself too hard, and focus on what you are doing, you might stop storing fat. Why? You want to stay in the “fat burning zone” which will set you up to store fat for the other 23 hours. That’s right, your body will become real efficient at storing fat! Slow steady cardio is the perfect workout if you do not want to increase your metabolism. And there’s more… you will burn off muscle, which will decrease your lean muscle mass.
6. When you are on a cardio piece of equipment, be sure to hold on! You will use only your legs this way to perform your aerobic exercise… your body will adapt, and store weight in your thighs!!! Who cares about your core and upper body anyway?
7. You should be able to carry on a conversation while you do your slow steady state cardio… you didn’t think this was supposed to be work did you?
8. Bring your cell phone to the gym. It is unlikely you went there with a plan anyhow, so you’ll welcome the interruption.
9. When you arrive, decide if you are going to do upper or lower body, then again, maybe you should just do cardio… here’s a plan 300 crunches, that’s sure to blast the belly fat! Yeah… pizza night!
