30-Day Challenge Complete!

Filed Under Motivation · Tagged:

Today was day 30 for my hill run challenge. I plan on continuing the
HABIT of doing my cardio exercise after teaching each of my boot
camp classes. I will change up the exercise, as I think it is
important to continue to challenge the body in new ways, but keep
the standing “appointment” I have now set in my schedule to do my
cardio exercise.

For those of you who completed or are near completing your 30-day
challenge, congratulations! I hope that you take time to
acknowledge yourself and celebrate your achievement.

Equally important, I hope that what you took on for your challenge
you will continue to do and keep as your new healthy habit.

If you did not do your challenge along with me, it’s never too late
to start one now. I was delighted by all the responses I got from
so many of you who are ready to begin your challenge with me this
time around, and I am looking forward to being your coach and part

of your support team.

Here is an empowering thought: Imagine if you just took one new
challenge, every 30 days… by the end of the year you could have 12
great healthy habits.

Last week I mentioned seeing the movie Food, Inc. Again, if you
haven’t seen it, I highly recommend that you do. The movie exposes
America’s Food Industry and it’s effect on animals, the
environment, farmers, our economy and our health.

My next 30-day goal is to buy only organic animal products (meat
and dairy) because it is not only better for your health, but the
animals are raised under healthier, happier conditions.

Personally, I haven’t eaten beef or pork for a long time, and not
planning to any time soon, but I do eat chicken, turkey, plain
yogurt and eggs, so now, I will only buy them if they are organic.

As much as possible, I will only buy organic fruits and vegetables,
at least the ones where the skin is thin. Also, I will try
to seek out locally grown produce.

I enjoyed the few times I was able to join Lauren and envy the consistency she was able to achieve. That seems to be elusive for me, my life is too complicated or I am too lazy or a little of both. The lesson is that I must figure out a way, no matter what is going on in my life, to consistently excercise. Happy Birthday Lauren!

I loved when you joined me Janice… it is always more fun with company. I told a friend today it took a village to hold me accountable… I certainly did not want to let all my readers down!
Since you are in my boot camp… why not join me for my standing appointment this month… you’ll already be there ;-) … the plans have been made…

Just checking in, late, on my 30 Day Challenge. I’m still doing it — although not perfectly I’m doing it and that works right now. Better to be doing something imperfectly — than doing nothing because I can’t be perfect. One week to go.

Hi Ellen, Let’s reframe that! How about: “I have completed 3/4 of the 30-day challenge to the best of my ability and each day I commit to this challenge I am healthier because I did it!”
*You’re still doing it (no quitting for this girl!)
*It works right now (Imagine if I only thought about doing it)
*You stayed publicly accountable (I’m fearless!)
*Just one week to go and I get to set a new challenge! (I’m unstoppable!)

    Lauren -
Thanks for the much needed reframing! You are right. I am doing it and just thinking about it makes me make better decisions. Today marks the end of 30 days and I feel good about it. I exercised on days I normally wouldn’t have and I feel great about that. I journaled my food most days and that was good. On days that I didn’t journal I thought about what I was eating and whether I would be happy if I had to write it down — that right there stopped me from putting some things in my mouth. So…30 days. Done and something achieved! Looking forward to the next 30DC!
