Easy Fat-Loss Tip: Eat Your Breakfast!

The truth is that eating breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day,
especially if you are trying to lose weight. When you skip breakfast, you are
programming your body to store more fat. Your metabolism will be sluggish,
and you are more likely to have uncontrollable cravings later in the day causing
you to eat too many calories. If that’s not bad enough, it can affect your mood,
your stress level, and can cause your thinking to be unclear.

Eating several meals a day starting with breakfast will help you maintain higher
energy levels and control your appetite. If you eat lunch at noon and dinner around
7:00 PM, then skip breakfast the next day… you will have gone 17 hours without
any food. Your body will get a signal that it is starving and will begin to store fat.
This is your body’s response to starvation.

This proven way of eating healthy for fat loss and lean muscle gain is detailed in
my Free 7-part Best Body Makeover email mini-course.

When I trained people at the gym often clients would show up in the morning
without having eaten anything. Invariably they would become dizzy and not
feel energetic. It’s like having no fuel… performance is lower trying to workout
after 10+ hours of not eating anything. Do what ever it takes to have a good
breakfast… either wake up a little earlier or have something ready the night before.

What is a good breakfast?

The best breakfast should have a quality protein, high fiber and fruit and even
vegetables. If you eat cereal, it should have a minimum of 5 grams of fiber and
less than 8 grams of sugar. Eating a breakfast that is protein based has a
positive effect on one’s metabolism.

Here are some examples:

1-A couple of eggs with sautéed vegetables.

2-High fiber cereal with skim milk and fresh fruit

3-Eggs, oatmeal and fresh fruit

4-Yogurt and fresh fruit

5-Or… try this yummy protein pancake:

2/3 cup of dry oatmeal cooked with 2/3 cup water

2/3 cup egg whites

1 scoop protein powder (I use Smoothie King’s Gladiator brand)

dash of cinnamon

Optional: add either blueberries, 1/2 grated or diced apple, or

other fruit

Combine all ingredients and pour into an 8” non-stick skillet sprayed with oil.
The mix will fill the bottom of the pan, making one large pancake. Flip when
edges start to come away from the sides of the pan or the pancake is slightly
brown underneath.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Be well,

Lauren

Glad you enjoyed the kitchen tour! When I get video savvy I will put it up on my blog for all to see!
Oatmeal mix consists of Steel cut oats, oat bran and flax seeds. Roughly a 4-2-1 part ratio, sorry I never measure it, just scoop in the bins and go.
